A little bit about MD Entertainment

            Picture
MD Entertainment was created in 2007 by Marie Doyen after her first trip to Lisbon brought her to promote the first Africadancar to her fellow Kizomba Class students. She enjoyed so much being able to bring together her natural talents for organisation, networking and promotion with her languages skills while being involved in the music and dances she loves that she decided to continue with similar travels and cultural promotion work in the UK.

Marie, originally from France, has lived in the UK since 1993 and has been dancing salsa and other Latin dance for almost as long. She was then part of the Edinburgh Samba School and has since travelled to Central America, Brasil and Africa. Currently based in London, she has contributed significantly to the promotion of Kizomba in the UK and overseas.

She is behind the Annual Kizomba Competition in the UK, taking the winner to compete at the International Kizomba Championship in Lisbon, Portugal for the last 3 consecutive year. She also co-founded Kizomba UK in May 2008, when she wanted to offer a night in Central London where all could enjoy Kizomba and other African music in a friendly and welcoming club with a relaxed party vibes. This has become a trademark of the club nights she organises, where all are welcome and mingle with like-minded people to great music in nice surroundings.

She left Kizomba UK in November 2009 to focus on her own projects and she is very active in supporting and promoting Kizomba has she experienced it, undiluted, true to its Angolan roots. A belief and principle she applies to each of her project: providing quality and authenticity, respecting the culture and her customers, wherever they are from!

She intends to visit Cap Verde, Angola and Cuba in the near future (and might take you with her!), while pursuing similar and innovative cultural projects here and overseas... You are bound to meet her on a dancefloor, at a concert or other cultural festivals near you sometime soon...
